Experience
Lane has been working in the world of fitness since 2000. Currently he is a fitness instructor for the New York Police Department where he conducts fitness evaluations including maximum heart rate testing, body composition testing and strength & flexibility assessments. He also implements individualized training programs for goal-specific performance. Prior to working with the NYPD he was a physical therapy assistant and personal trainer at corporate fitness centers in Manhattan, as well as exclusive health clubs in NYC and the tri-state area.
About Lane
Lane joined the staff of The Running Center in 2008 with an outstanding exercise science background, both academically and professionally. Adding this knowledge to his position as lead assistant running coach enables him to give runners an edge in understanding the training process. In addition to his coaching position, he also works in The Running Center’s Sports Lab, where he administers VO2 Max & Lactate Threshold testing for aerobic capacity and Metabolic testing for weight management. Lane also offers private coaching sessions through The Running Center, which are valuable if you are looking for some additional instruction or if you have missed an important group run.
Lane’s own running performance took notice when he ran his first 5-mile race at a 6:55 pace without any specific training, and has since broken this time with a 6:45 pace for 5 miles. His 5K (3.1 miles) personal record is 19:46 for a pace of 6:23 per mile. Lane lives in Brooklyn and continues to excel in his running pursuits.

Charlotte has recently joined the coaching staff of The Running Center. She is the founder of (Mothers Across America), a nonprofit organization that empowers mothers to achieve personal goals through goal-based running programs. As director of her organization, Charlotte received a national humanitarian award nomination for her visionary work to increase physical activity for women on a national level.
About Charlotte
Charlotte is a competitive runner and racer achieving age group awards in distances from 4 miles to 10K, as well in sprint-distance duathlons. She was a product tester for Nike shoes for seven years, where her leg appeared in the first Nike Shox ad. Charlotte lives in Brooklyn, but can often be seen running with her large black poodle in Central Park during the early morning.
