Club Team Race
Join the program created and led by the running coach who started the Half-Marathon Training Program Revolution in New York City… Coach Mindy. When you complete the program, you'll feel as if you received a degree in the sport of running from Harvard University!

THE GOAL RACES
Although we have listed the races we'll be training for within each session, you may choose another race of your choice.

WHO SHOULD JOIN
• If you have run a half-marathon within the past year or...
• If you are currently (or recently) running a minimum of 10 miles per week or...
• If you have been running for the past three to six months or...
• If you have "graduated" from our Beginner's Program

FEATURES & BENEFITS
Included in all Half-Marathon Programs are:

• Runditioning™ Screening.
See above for description.

• Baseline Time Trial & Heart Rate Training. It is important to establish your baseline for pace and heart rate. You will run a specified distance (about 3 to 4 miles) which will serve as a starting point for your current level. We encourage you to wear a heart rate monitor to get a true sense of your cardiovascular fitness. A clinic on heart rate training is included in the program.


• Weekly Group Runs. After 20 years of coaching, you can be sure we’ve got a plethora of workouts to keep it interesting. The professionally coached group runs take place mostly in Central Park. We also plan interesting courses outside of the park within the NYC area. The dates of the runs are indicated on the training schedule (that you will receive at the kick-off) and meet as follows:

≈Every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.

≈Every Saturday morning.
  Saturday runs in January through April meet at 9:00am
  Saturday runs in May, June, September & October meet at 8:00am
  Saturday runs in July & August meet at 7:30am

Queens 131 Half-Marathon• Personalized Daily Training Schedule.
This is not a cookie-cutter schedule pulled-off the internet. It is personally created by Coach Mindy and distributed at the kick-off meeting. 
 
• Distances & Types of Runs. The distance of each run will vary and include long runs, heart rate runs, stamina runs, speedwork and hill runs.

• Pace Groups. Pace groups are determined so that you are placed in the appropriate group for your level.

• Training Advice. You will receive Coach Mindy's Ultimate Training Guide. Plus weekly emails are sent with training advice for the week's workouts. You will learn, learn, learn!

• Runditioning™. Coach Mindy's signature strength, form and conditioning exercise program, Runditioning™, will help you improve your running form and help you to prevent injuries.

• Individual Goals & Results. Individual goal-setting for training runs and races are given to each participant from Coach Mindy with results sheet sent after the run. It's like having a private coach within the group setting!

• Clinics. Clinics are led by Coach Mindy and our Fitness and Health Partners on a variety of topics including running form, heart rate monitor training, hill running, shoe selection, nutrition, injury prevention and more.

• Goal Race. A specific half-marathon race is pre-determined for the team. You may also run another half-marathon race of your choice. You'll receive coaching support at local races!

• Open Door Policy. Ongoing email, phone and coach-to-runner support with answers to all your questions by Coach Mindy.

• Energy.
PowerBar® energy food is distributed throughout the training program.

• Team Gear.
Team hat and bag.

• Team Camaraderie. One of the best reasons to join!

Please Note:
(1) You must be pre-registered on our online registration form to attend the kick-off.
(2) Entry fees for races are not included in the program fee.
(3) Dates and times of group runs and events are subject to change.
(4) Goal races are subject to change. You may also select a race that is not listed. Please discuss with Coach Mindy.
