OVERVIEW
Our Marathon Training Program is the "Rolls Royce" of Marathon Programs in NYC and beyond. Join the program created and led by the running coach who started the Marathon Training Program Revolution in New York City… Coach Mindy. This program will prepare you to run a Spring or Fall Marathon. When you complete the program, you'll feel as if you received a degree in marathoning from Harvard University!
GOLD MEDAL PROGRAM
During this program you may train for a Spring Marathon (March/April/May races) and a Fall Marathon (Sept/Oct/Nov races). Within the program, you will also train for half-marathons.
WINTER/SPRING MARATHONS
During this program you may train for a Spring Marathon (March/April/May races). Within the program, you will also train for half-marathons.
SUMMER/FALL MARATHONS
During these programs you may train for a Fall Marathon (Sept/Oct/Nov races). Within the program, you will also train for half-marathons. Although a lot of emphasis is placed on training for the NYC Marathon, we also train for other Fall races.
Training for a marathon is a serious endeavor. With our 20 years of experience in training 10,000 runners, we are serious about helping you to succeed from Start to Finish Line. The connection between coach and runner is very strong, and we are here to help you every "footstep" of the way. Therefore, your success can only be fully achieved if you have a commitment to the training program. This includes attending as many group runs as possible so that we can monitor your progress (which we cannot do if we don't see you run); responding to weekly RSVP's in a timely manner (so we can properly plan the workouts that will have the most benefit for your training); communicating with the Head Coach by email or phone; and becoming a member of The Running Center's team by proudly wearing the team shirt when you race for good old team spirit.

The Marathon Training Program is created and coached by The Running Center's Owner and Head Coach, Coach Mindy, and includes the following.
• Weekly Group Runs. After 20 years of coaching, you can be sure we’ve got a plethora of workouts to keep it interesting. The professionally coached group runs take place mostly in Central Park. We also plan interesting courses outside of the park within the NYC area. The dates of the runs are indicated on the training schedule and meet as follows:
≈Every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.
-And-
≈Two-to-three Saturday mornings per month.
Saturday runs in January through April and Nov & Dec meet at 9:00am
Saturday runs in May, June, September & October meet at 8:00am
Saturday runs in July & August meet at 7:30am
Note: In September & October group runs are nearly every Saturday morning
• Personalized Daily Training Schedule. This is not a cookie-cutter schedule pulled-off the internet. It is personally created by Coach Mindy and distributed at the kick-off meeting.
• Distances & Types of Runs. The distance of each run will vary based on your particular level. Training runs are varied and include long runs, heart rate runs, stamina runs, speedwork and hill runs.
• Pace Groups. Time trials are run and pace groups are determined for training runs, races and the marathon.
• Training Advice. You will receive Coach Mindy's Ultimate Training Guide. Plus weekly emails are sent with training advice for the week's workouts. You will learn, learn, learn!
• Runditioning™. Coach Mindy's signature strength, form and conditioning exercise program, Runditioning™, will help you improve your running form and help you to prevent injuries.
• Individual Goals & Results. Individual goal-setting for training runs and races are given to each participant from Coach Mindy with results sheet sent after the run. It's like having a private coach within the group setting!
• Clinics. Clinics are led by Coach Mindy on a variety of topics including running form, heart rate monitor training, hill running, shoe selection, injury prevention and more.
• Races & Goal Marathon. Before you run the marathon, you'll run several shorter distance races (4 miles to half-marathon) with goals established. And you'll receive coaching support at local races, and of course at the NYC Marathon.
• Open Door Policy. Ongoing email, phone and coach-to-runner support with answers to all your questions by Coach Mindy.
• Bonus.
• Free entry into Marathon Training Runs
• Free private luxury bus to the Start of the NYC Marathon
• Energy.
PowerBar® energy food is distributed throughout the training program.
• Team Camaraderie. One of the best reasons to join!
