Our highly skilled and licensed massage therapist is proficient at working with athletes, especially runners. We offer two therapeutic modalities which serve to keep you more flexible and reduce injuries for better sports performance. Massage takes place in our Massage and Consultation room at The Running Center.
Specialized Sports Massage
Overview: A must for pre- or post-workout flexibility, recovery and restoration. This technique employs deep pressure to targeted muscle groups to warm up muscles prior to your workout and to flush out post-workout toxins. It consists of specific components designed to reduce injuries and soreness by alleviating inflammation and bringing blood and oxygen to the muscles.
Massage Treatment: Specialized Sports Massage is a localized treatment of specific areas of the body that have been placed under undue stress. For runners, it is mostly a lower-body treatment working on hips, hamstrings, quads, IT bands, calves, shins, achilles and feet. Stretching affected areas is also included.

Full Body Massage
Overview: A full body massage utilizing Deep Tissue techniques and/or Swedish massage.
Deep Tissue Massage Treatment: This treatment uses a series of intensive techniques through slow strokes and deep finger pressure to manipulate sore, tight muscles and connective tissues. Deep tissue work increases circulation, releases built-up toxins, improves posture and increases range of motion by restoring length and flexibility to the fascia.
Swedish Massage Treatment: This massage technique is characterized by its firm, yet calming pressure that improves blood circulation, eases muscle tension, and improves flexibility. It is characterized by a series of long, gliding strokes, kneading of the muscles, and vibrational taps that are so common when one thinks of massage. Five basic strokes – gliding, kneading, vibrations, friction and hacking – are all applied in the direction of the heart in order to encourage blood circulation and the disposal of bodily waste. Massage oils are always used to achieve the smooth, long and deep strokes over the body.
